Young Artists
The Young Artists Recital was established in 2017 as the educational expansion of the Bach Society of Charleston’s mission to enrich the Charleston community through presentation of exceptionally high-quality, historically informed performance of early music. It serves as a venue for young, local musicians of early music to expand their craft by performing within a community of talented, professional, and actively practicing early musicians. The recital is designed in conjunction with a master class led by leaders of the Bach Society of Charleston artistic team to provide an opportunity for the students to work on interpretation and sound and to experience period instruments prior to a culminating performance during the annual Bach Festival each spring.
With eight exceptional young artists of ages ranging 12 to 18 years old and hailing from all corners of the Lowcountry, the Bach Society of Charleston is thrilled with the success of the program’s first year and we look forward to the continuation of this stewardship in the years ahead.
